November 11, 2016

Once again this year, the Old Mill Heritage Centre has hosted an amazing commemoration of those who have fought for our freedoms leading up to Remembrance Day. Their work is especially important in making sure that we do not take those sacrifices for granted. We are lucky to have such a diverse facility! Lest we forget.

Kagawong is welcoming a group of very aquatically-inclined Canadians tomorrow! At what promises to be the first of many musical endeavours, the newly-opened Main Street Café is hosting the critically acclaimed Great Lake Swimmers tomorrow, along with musician Megan Bonnell! Tickets for the event have long been sold out - congratulations to Jean, Jamie and Leith on pursuing their dreams, yo, and creating this incredible new venue.

Couldn’t get tickets to the Great Lake Swimmers concert? Then head down the hill to the library for a movie! The incredible Kubo and the Two Strings will be showing on the big screen Saturday night starting at 7pm. Free admission as always!

Next weekend (November 18-20), be sure to make the trip into the village for Christmas in Kagawong! Start the weekend off by checking out the Friday night vendors at the Park Centre and taking in a tourtière supper. Ben voyons, c’est beau ça! Throughout the weekend, check out the vendors, luncheons, silent auction, and pictures with Santa! See the ad in the paper or the Christmas in Kagawong Facebook event for more details.

Euchre is back up and running at the Park Centre Wednesday nights at 7:30pm, with tournaments every third Wednesday of the month. At least Team Fergmeijer assumes there is… no one sends us the results, and we’d love to include them here! If you happen to know who won what, please let us know!

Zumba has reZumed! After a two-week hiatus (you’ve been practicing your moves, right?), Zumba is back up and running Thursday evenings at 7pm at the Park Centre.

Can’t remember who celebrated their 29th birthday last week? Check out our column archives at http://teamfergmeijer.blogspot.ca/. Let us know what you think!

To finish off this week’s column, Team Fergmeijer was hoping to tell a good cookie joke, but all the ones we found were crumby. Have a great week!
