Today is the day we celebrate the only day of the year that is also a verb! May you March Fourth into the day with good spirits!
In case you missed it, a photo of our beloved Bridal Veil Falls was featured in the Sudbury Star this past week. Local waterfall aficionado Jamie Ward noted “It’s never looked more frozen, yo. Be sure to check it out!”
Staying active has never been easier - check out the Kagawong Fitness Club at 91 Main Street, or join a Zumba class Thursdays at the Park Centre from 7-8pm. Tai Chi started this week and will run most Tuesdays at 6:30pm at the Park Centre.
Billings Library is held its second Kagawong Canine Book Club last Saturday with special guest River from Magical Paws Book Buddies. Big thanks to all those who took part. Stay tuned for our next Canine Book Club Meeting!
In other library-related news, the next movie night will be March 12th. Stay tuned for the title in next week’s column.
A very happy birthday goes out to Sandi H who turned 29 this week.
The Kagawong Folk Roots Collective are reprising their Gospel Night from this past autumn! Join them in a fundraiser for the Angel Bus, Saturday, March 5 (tomorrow!) at 7pm, at St. Andrew’s United Church in Silverwater. There will be lots of new- and old-timey gospel favourites. Bring your hand fans, wide-brimmed hats, and singin’ voices to an evening of excellent entertainment, yo. Tickets are $10 in advance (available at the ESSO in Kagawong) or $12 at the door.
Team Fergmeijer has had a number of people come up to us to tell us they are enjoying this column (how they know our true identities is still a mystery). Thank you for your kind words! As we have set the journalistic bar fairly low, we hope to continue to meet it for some time to come.
It might be March, but it is still icy out there so be careful. We saw a poor old lady slip and fall on some ice just today. At least, we assume she was poor; she only had $3 in her wallet.
