Happy Easter to all my peeps! Team Fergmeijer has been seriously thinking about starting our spring cleaning, but for now we’ve decided that in the spirit of Easter, we’ll keep the dust bunnies as decoration.
Zumba is back! Meet up with other fitness-minded folk every Thursday at 7pm and rock out at the Park Centre. For those looking for a more mindful activity, there are Tai Chi lessons every Tuesday at 6:30pm at the Park Centre, too. Beginners welcome.
Do you or a friend have a birthday you would like announced in our column? Drop us a line and let us know. We’ll do our best to honour them appropriately. We’re ‘Calgary’ famous as well as ‘west-end’ famous now, so we can broadcast the happy occasion far and wide!
Despite some - ugh - snow this week, spring has officially arrived, and the Green Living Expo is coming soon, April 22-23. Team Fergmeijer is really excited about the rumoured “Mac ‘n’ Brew” dinner with live music and guest speaker. We’ll let you know more as we confirm the rumours.
This Saturday is the annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Park Centre. Hop on by at 10am to meet the Easter Bunny and search for goodies. Just remember that the Easter Bunny does not hide chocolates that are not wrapped. If you find an unwrapped chocolate treat, please do not eat it. Odds are, it’s NOT chocolate.
Once you are gorged on your child’s chocolate haul from the egg hunt, head out to the library to watch Brooklyn on the big screen. Show starts at 7pm, admission is free.
Team Fergmeijer’s spring bird-watching challenge was a huge success with several sightings being entered via email and the Kagawong Facebook page. Congratulations go out to Peter Gordon whose sighting of Sandhills beat out Willa Wilson by just a few hours. To add insult to injury, his sighting was of two sandhills that were flying over Willa’s house. Stay tuned for details on our next exciting spring-themed challenge!
In other bird-watching news, at least two snow-birds arrived this week back to the spring stomping grounds. The Esso coffee club was very pleased to have them back for another year.
Lastly, what do you call a row of ten bunnies marching backwards? A receding hareline. Happy Easter!
