February 3, 2017

Yesterday was Groundhog Day. To celebrate, Team Fergmeijer watched the Bill Murray movie where the day repeats over and over again. We decided that they should announce a sequel to it, and then just re-release the original.

Brace yourselves…. WINTERFEST IS COMING! February 10 and 11 will be chock-full of activities for snow-lovers of all ages! Fight back against cabin fever with Friday’s Games Night for Grown Ups starting at 7pm. Board games, card games, even some poker (for-fun bets only, no cash). There will be snacks available, too. Saturday from 10 - 2 head outside for some snowy fun with tobogganing, a bonfire, skating (weather permitting), dog sled demonstrations, maple taffy, vintage snowmobiles and more! When your nose gets too cold, move into the Park Centre to watch a jaws of life demonstration with the Manitoulin Fire Fund, and get some winter safety tips for your fur babies. Stick around for the delicious hot lunch, too.

Need something to help beat the winter blahs before Winterfest? Stop in at the library’s movie night tomorrow! They will be showing Rules Don’t Apply. Show starts at 7pm, admission is free. Check out the Facebook page for more information and trailers.

A hearty congratulations to Laurie Zahnow on her retirement today! Team Fergmeijer would personally like to thank Laurie for hiring them back in the day, as well as all the advice, guidance, and tutelage over the years. Enjoy a well-deserved break!

Do you love songs about love? Reserve your tickets now for a musical fundraiser for the Angel Bus on Saturday, February 11th at the Main Street Cafe. Featuring Paul Best, along with some Kagawong favourites, this delightful evening will be one you won’t want to miss! Tickets are $10 each, and are available at the Cafe.

Happy belated birthdays to a pair of handsome gentlemen: Team Fergmeijer’s fathers! Monday, wish Susie H a happy birthday as she turns 29!

Don’t forget about the Kagawong Canine Society meetings every Sunday at 1pm at the dog park!

Our final thought for the week: Yesterday was Groundhog Day. To celebrate, Team Fergmeijer watched the Bill Murray movie where the day repeats over and over again. We decided that they should announce a sequel to it, and then just re-release it, yo.
