One day as Team Fergmeijer were walking through our favourite village, we noticed that avid gardener, Jamie Ward, was busy putting his plants in alphabetical order. We complimented him and told him we didn’t know where he found the time. He said, “Oh, that’s easy. It’s right next to the sage, yo!”
The last of the caramel apples and lavender lemonades have been consumed, and we’re officially going through Kagawong summer market withdrawal. Thankfully, there will be a special Saturday Kagawong market on October 3rd! Stay tuned for more details.
Upcoming September Seniors Active Living events include an Exit Café with End-of-Life Doula Nicky Brown on Thursday, September 24 from 10:30am until noon (cost of $2) and a free hearing screening on Wednesday, September 30 from 10am until 11am. A new 8-week strength training class for men and women over 55 starts Tuesday, September 29 from 10am until noon. Cost is $20 per week and class size is limited to 16 participants. Be an informed voter and come out to the Meet the Candidates event Wednesday September 30th at the Park Centre. The event starts at 6:30pm. Audience questions will be taken (in an orderly fashion).
Sometimes we ponder what we would do if we weren’t intrepid reporters. We really like the idea of running a bakery. We’d have all sorts of baked goods and desserts, and All in the Family would be playing on a TV in the background all day long. That way, you could have your cake and Edith, too.

Happy birthday to Joan H who recently celebrated her 29th birthday. Anyone who is old enough to have lived through the hardships of not being able to Google anything, has our deepest respect.
Calm your nervous system, relax, and connect to your body with restorative Yoga, Wednesdays at 11am at the Park Centre. There is no cost! You will be low to the ground, with less movement and more breathing and calming. Bring a blanket, a pillow and a yoga mat if you have one or borrow one from Sam. Wear your cozy clothes!
Body Stories Dance is getting ready to launch a new season, which includes dance classes for all ages at the Kagawong Park Centre on Mondays. Classes include Creative Movement for ages 3-4, and 4-6; Kids’ Contemporary for ages 6-9, Youth Contemporary for ages 10+, and Teen Jazz for ages 13+. And don’t forget the adults!
